I enjoy leading a team of experts who are able to make dramatic savings in costs and time for our clients. We are problem solvers. Normally we help SMEs fight huge utility companies and regulators, which is very satisfying.
For example, one client in Edinburgh asked us to review his water charges in a large office building. “The costs are quite small but worth reviewing” he said. He was astonished when we found overcharges and tracked them back over 5 years. Three months after taking us on he received a cheque for over £461,000.
In my spare time, I enjoy going to classical, choral and bluegrass concerts, theatre, opera and cinema. We are very fortunate to be a cultural hub in Glasgow. For exercise I like to swim, walk and cycle.
I enjoy being responsible for the financial aspects of the business and being in a position to provide useful information to the management team. On a day-to-day basis, the work is varied and interesting.
During the last year, I have been involved with managing a successful R&anp;D claim which has assisted in funding our major investment in new software systems. This has helped the business to provide a more streamlined service to our clients.

Over the last two years, I have developed a client service plan which is more accessible for the clients and which highlights BCC’s worth to their organisation.
In my spare time, I enjoy training in the gym, watching movies, DIY and fiddling with classic cars.
Business Development Manager
The part of my job I enjoy most is helping new customers and clients to reduce their utility consumption and improve their impact on the environment.
Recently, I’ve developed water reduction strategies for a number of high profile corporate customers, outlining their ongoing commitments and helping to set reduction targets.
Away from the office, if I’m not spending time with my four-year-old I’ll be reading or practicing for my other hobby – Karaoke!
Business Development Executive
I enjoy my role in setting the platform for businesses to take advantage of the services we offer resulting in driving down the costs of their utilities.
I recently contacted a business who were close to agreeing a new Electricity contract with an Energy Broker. I established that they had been quoted a price with the “commission” included separately on the contract in small print inflating his unit rate. We were able to offer them a fair market aligned price saving him over £11,000 per annum.
Outside of work, I enjoy being kept busy by my two little girls, catching up with friends and watching movies.
Operations & IT Support
I enjoy how varied the work is and especially the data analysis, coding and problem solving.
I recently conducted good negotiation and navigation of industry procedures, which resulted in a saving of £84,000 on retrospective gas charged to one of our clients.

Consultant, Team Lead
In my role as Lead Consultant I enjoy carrying out analysis of big sets of data and using it to provide useful management reports for my clients.
I am especially proud of the way that I resolved a long outstanding billing dispute for a local Glasgow pub, resulting in compensation of over £20,000 being paid from an energy supplier.
Outside of work, I like going on holidays, horse riding, and I am currently learning to ski.
I enjoy the procurement side of my job the most, particularly number crunching; seeing the end result of my days’ work in figures is satisfying.
I recently saved one of our clients £14,818 by reducing their maximum import capacity to a suitable margin.
I play Shinty at the highest level, it takes up a lot of my spare time and I also enjoy watching and partaking in various sports, exploring new places is fun.
Joining BCC was one of the best decisions I made last year. Coming from a corporate background it is refreshing and inspiring to see the client-focused, personalised, get-everyone-involved attitude and processes at BCC.
During my years in energy I have managed portfolios ranging from 1GWh to 800GWh annual consumption and have dealt with a range of issues as well as contract negotiations for them.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, winter sports, ball games and writing short stories. I’m also the IT support for my whole family.
In my role as a Consultant I enjoy working in the fast-moving and ever-changing energy markets. I thrive on providing our clients with the most up-to-date, cost-effective energy solutions together with a high level of bespoke customer service.

I love the variety at BCC. As a member of the CSA team I enjoy learning new aspects of the business. Every day is different, and I get to interact with such a varied people.
I particularly enjoy successfully clearing billing disputes for clients where there have been previous difficult issues.
Outside of work, I enjoy shopping, going out with friends and visiting new places.
Client Service Advisor, Team Lead
Part of my job involves training new members of staff. I enjoy helping them develop within the company, watching them go from strength to strength and becoming an integral part of our team.
I enjoy helping clients. Recently, one of our large multi-site clients was being billed erratically. I liaised with the supplier and, after a long and complicated dispute, was able to secure over £10,000 compensation.
In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with friends and travelling.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and spending time with my friends and family.
Client Service Advisor
I enjoy building good working relationships with my clients and suppliers.
Recently, one of the big six suppliers had opened one of my client’s accounts on the wrong number of meter dials. I noticed this and after liaising with my client and the supplier, I managed to achieve a refund of just over £13,000.
Outside work, I like keeping fit. We have just moved house and I am also enjoying decorating, picking new colours and fabrics.
