WT Mather Ltd. is part of the Surafti UK group and has been making quality jams and mincemeat for over a hundred years. Surafti UK consists of three companies, James Fleming & Co., WT Mather and Sugarfayre. Each company manufacturers high quality products for the food industry. We manage all the utilities for the three UK companies.

Substantial water cost savings

We sent our water expert, Carl Sheard out to the site to liaise with staff and carry out a thorough investigation into potential savings. It was discovered that water meters of the wrong sizes were being used. By downsizing the meters we were able to save the client a large sum of money each year. Carl also achieved a substantial rebate for our client. He also identified savings that could be made in trade effluent and advised the client on ways to reduce the volume of water consumed in the factory.

As a result of this meter change we have managed to save the client over £2,000 annually. We were also able to backdate the overcharge to November 2002 and as a result the client received a rebate of over £13,000. Coupled with this, we were also able to identify a significant trade effluent saving, resulting in a total saving in excess of £33,000.

“We believed we ran a tight ship, but within months of appointing Business Cost Consultants they negotiated a rebate from our water provider of over 30%.” — Dave Grundy (Accountant)
