Wholesale Domestic save over £20k on utility costs
are a family owned business with over 50 years’ experience in the bathroom industry. Their superstore in Hillington, Glasgow is the largest display of bathroom equipment in Scotland.
BCC were appointed by Wholesale Domestic to carry out a full audit of energy and water charges and identify areas for savings. In particular, Wholesale Domestic asked BCC to investigate and manage a long standing dispute on one of the electricity supplies.
The audit identified several areas where costs could be reduced. BCC managed the whole procurement process from data collection through to a formal tender process and a detailed procurement report. The team also disputed historical charges on one of the electricity supplies and presented a robust case outlining the reasons why the supplier was at fault. We pursued the supplier for several months and kept Wholesale Domestic updated with progress.
BCC was successful in resolving the long standing dispute, which resulted in a saving of circa £5,000. Furthermore, the team at BCC negotiated competitive pricing for supplies that were available for review resulting in a saving of £16,000 per annum. BCC continue to work closely with Wholesale Domestic to identify further areas for savings.
“We are very happy to recommend BCC for their thorough and professional approach. Before we appointed BCC we were experiencing a number of issues with our energy and water supplies. It became quite complex and was taking up a lot of our time. The team at BCC have very quickly implemented new agreements and resolved long standing disputes that have saved us over £20k. They have also helped us save money indirectly because our internal teams haven’t had to spend time and effort on managing our energy supplies.”
