Cost savings for award-winning country club

Client:

Branded ‘exceptional’ with a five-star award from the Scottish Tourist Board, Ingliston Country Club & Equestrian Centre is a family-run estate situated in peaceful countryside.

Situation:

Ingliston Country Club was keen to save money on energy costs and so appointed BCC to help.

Strategy:

BCC’s team of experts carried out a full utility audit covering electricity, gas and water, in order to find areas for savings.

This audit identified that the club was paying too much for energy contracts.

The increasingly unpredictable nature of energy markets present serious challenges to businesses and organisations. BCC have worked with Ingliston Country Club to develop a structured procurement strategy. Following BCC’s independent advice and detailed market analysis, the electricity contract was secured near the bottom of a significant dip in the market.

Results:

Thanks to BCC’s procurement advice, Ingliston Country Club saved £6,054 (7.7%) on their electricity costs. Furthermore, Ingliston was protected from the recent rises in the wholesale market.
The team have also successfully re-negotiated the gas contract for the coming year, resulting in reducing the price of gas by 17%, and are continuing to pursue a potential gas refund worth £6,000.
