CALA Homes operate throughout the UK offering stunning homes and accompanying this with an excellent service. They occupy a position as one of the UK’s foremost new home builders and have a real commitment to quality. Their award winning homes combine stunning traditional design with contemporary home comforts.
Business Cost Consultants were engaged by CALA Homes to manage utilities for the group across their offices in Edinburgh, Falkirk and Aberdeen. They had concerns over rising energy costs in recent years. Once we were on board we performed a comprehensive audit of their utility usage and costs over the previous 12 months. In order to do so, we had to examine previous billing information in the deepest level of detail. We then compiled a report which was presented to CALA highlighting areas of savings. Another benefit which CALA gained from this was a much clearer picture of where and how they used energy. This results in closer control over utilities.
Business Cost Consultants quickly identified that CALA were on a high unit rate for electricity. We are looking into the energy markets on a daily basis and we were confident we could achieve savings by significantly improving on these rates. As we advise all of our clients, achieving competitive rates for energy supply is not always about being a great negotiator. Knowing when to go to the market is key to saving on energy contracts.

Using our experience of the electricity market and utilising our good relationships with energy suppliers, we were able to secure a vastly improved contract on CALA Homes’ electricity supplies for their offices in Edinburgh and Falkirk.
